Join artist Day Brièrre to sculpt your own altar in this handbuilding-focused workshop. Through various sculpture techniques, you’ll develop foundational skills while working toward a personal, meaningful form. Day’s practice explores ritual, symbolism, and stroytelling. This class invites you to reflect on your own sense of mysticism and translate it into clay. Open to all levels, with space for both guided instruction and individual exploration.

About the Artist:
Day is a Haitian-born multimedia artist based in Chicago, Illinois. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in ceramics from Florida International University in 2018 and is currently pursuing an MFA in Painting and Drawing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, expected in May 2027. She has participated in residencies at BKLYN CLAY, Clayworks on Columbia in New York City, and Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago. Day was awarded a Leroy Neiman Fellowship at Oxbow School of Art, along with an artist residency in 2023, and received a painting fellowship from the New York Foundation for the Arts in 2024
