The Digs Chicago is a 501c3 ceramics studio in West Town, Chicago. The studio is home to over 100 members between our Residency and Pay to Clay programs. The Digs hosts classes, one day workshops, private parties, and Chicago Ceramics Crawl, an annual city-wide open studio.
The Digs opened in November of 2020, during the pandemic. The Digs expanded in both 2022 and 2024, finally totaling 6,000 sq/ft with a private artist residency studio. In 2023, the founders were featured on Forbes 30 Under 30.

We believe that art-making and learning can be accessed and fostered outside of traditional institutional structures through self-representation. The Digs community is dedicated to the circulation of knowledge and connection through the support of individual practice and entrepreneurial spirit.
